The recent dominance of the Dragapult ex deck has caused many players to further experiment with it, thus spawning several new deck variants. One of these new variants includes the Toedscruel card from Future Flash [SV4M].

About Toedscruel (Future Flash [SV4M] 068/066)

Toedscruel is mainly included as a tech against decks which make heavy use of card retrieval from the discard pile—in particular the Gardevoir ex and Gholdengo ex decks. This is possible by way of Slime Mold Colony, its Ability. Slime Mold Colony prevents the opponent from retrieving cards from the discard pile by way of an Ability or Trainer card for as long as Toedscruel is in play.

Of the two versions of this card, the one which is more sought-after is the Art Rare (AR) version. The AR iteration’s Full Art illustration depicts several Toesdcruel in the Kitakami Wilds—proven by the fact that the illustration’s background includes a few Hoothoot as well. The Kitakami Wilds is the only location in the Pokémon universe where both Toedscruel and Hoothoot can be found in the wild.

This card’s English version is card 185/182 in Paradox Rift [PAR].
