[Pokémon TCG] Brock’s Scouting (Battle Partners [SV9] 123/100) [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
Would this card ever have been A Thing if not for Budew and its impact on the meta?

Due to the changes to the Pokémon TCG metagame which the introduction of the Budew card from Terastal Festival ex [SV8a] has brought about, one card which has risen to prominence is Brock’s Scouting from Battle Partners [SV9]—especially in decks which emphasize Pokémon evolution.
About Brock’s Scouting (Battle Partners [SV9] 123/100)
When played, Brock’s Scouting allows the player to select either two Basic Pokémon or one evolved Pokémon from the deck before shuffling the deck. This is often used as an easy way to evolve Pokémon which are able to do so by picking out their respective evolutions from the deck. It’s also a viable method to bring in any Pokémon which might serve as effective counterplay against what the opponent has in play.
Many players have more recently opted to select this card in place of the once-ubiquitous Arven card from Violet ex [SV1V]. Arven has typically been used to obtain Item cards which enable Pokémon evolution. However, with Budew’s Item-locking capabilities, Arven has become a less viable option in the current meta—paving the way for Brock’s Scouting to rise to prominence.
The version of this card which collectors would be more likely to seek out is the Art Rare (AR) version. Although the imagery is fairly basic—depicting the Rock-type specialist standing in a field in front of a fence—much of the card’s appeal has to do with the fact that for most of the earlier seasons of the Pokémon anime, Brock was the tritagonist of the series; this has given him a considerable fan following among those who closely followed the anime.
