One of the leading US distributors of Pokémon TCG products (which has chosen to remain anonymous) has publicly confirmed via direct information from The Pokémon Company International (TPCi) that the release of upcoming English dual set Black Bolt [BLK] and White Flare [WHT] on 18 July 2025 will be marked by severe product shortages.

According to the information provided, store allocations from products from Black Bolt [BLK] and White Flare [WHT] will be much less than those of prior sets. Many stores are even expected to receive no products at all until a date yet to be revealed.

Products from Black Bolt [BLK] and White Flare [WHT] are only expected to be made widely available following the first reprint. However, there isn’t yet any information on when that reprint will arrive.

The product shortage is likely in part due to the fact that TPCi has been focusing on recent and upcoming reprints of products from Surging Sparks [SSP], 151 [MEW], and Prismatic Evolutions [PRE].
