The Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Year of the Horse” is set to return in Spring 2026, reviving a notable chapter from Nike’s Chinese Zodiac series, which was originally launched in 2014.
About the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Year of the Horse”

The “Year of the Horse” Nike Kobe 8 features a Light Crimson upper accented by Bright Citron Swooshes and laces. The shoe’s Vivid Blue translucent sole acts as a counterpoint underfoot. A subtle horse emblem on the inner tongue further emphasizes the zodiac theme.

The Protro iteration brings significant performance upgrades over the original Kobe 8. Notably, Nike replaces the Lunarlon midsole with React foam. The upper’s construction has been reinforced for improved lockdown and durability while maintaining breathability.

Additionally, the tongue has been redesigned with thicker cushioning, and the sole features a thicker rubber compound with updated traction.
