Los Angeles-based streetwear label FUCKTHEPOPULATION (FTP) is joining forces with Vans for a collaborative footwear release. This pairing of two Southern California icons, which many feel has been a long time coming, will introduce co-designed versions of the Old Skool 36 and Authentic 44, hitting shelves in May.

About the FTP x OTW by Vans Collection

Their debut collection is already generating buzz, with FTP enlisting Blink-182’s drummer, Travis Barker, for their promotional campaign. Barker stars in a heist-themed video where the coveted prize is the FTP x OTW by Vans sneakers.

The FTP x OTW by Vans Authentic 44 makes a bold statement with Vans’ signature checkerboard pattern reimagined with “FTP” lettering filling the white squares. This design covers the cotton canvas upper, while the toe cap is crafted from premium suede, adding a textural contrast. Continuing the theme of all-over branding, more “FTP” text is visible on the shoe’s forefoot, midsole, and outsole through a translucent rubber layer.

The FTP x OTW by Vans Old Skool 36 also heavily features branding, with FTP logos prominently displayed on the sides and outsole. A key design element is the incorporation of reflective materials. The side stripe and FTP logos on the tongue and heel all boast a reflective finish, injecting a dose of eye-catching detail into the otherwise understated aesthetic. Both the FTP x Vans Old Skool 36 and Authentic 44 include premium leather insoles and an extra set of laces adorned with collaborative branding.

Release Details

The inaugural FTP x OTW by Vans collection will be available starting 9 May 2025, via vans.com/otw. The Authentic 44 will retail for US$130, while the Old Skool 36 is priced at US$145.
