Of all the cards in newly-released ONE PIECE Card Game Starter Deck Ace & Newgate [ST-22], the obvious standout was the Super Rare Parallel (SR-P) version of the Kozuki Oden card. This came as a surprise to some, given the fact that the biggest pull of the whole Starter Deck was not one of either of the two characters after which the Starter Deck was named.

About Kozuki Oden (Ace & Newgate [ST-22] ST22-005)

Visually speaking, the SR-P version doesn’t differ all that much from the Super Rare (SR) version of the card. Both images depict the former daimyo of Kuri wielding both his swords; however, the main difference lies in the fact that the SR-P version has most of the illustration in black and white. In this way, although this card isn’t a Manga Rare, it does provide the card with a manga-esque aesthetic.

There’s also a novelty factor in play with this card as this is the first time that Oden has been featured on the chase card of any ONE PIECE Card Game set or Starter Deck; it will also likely be the only time that such will ever be the case with the possible exception of a future ONE PIECE Card Game set which could be based on the manga’s Wano Country Saga, if one were ever to be released.

The sale price of a Kozuki Oden (Ace & Newgate [ST-22] ST22-005) card of SR-P rarity is 2,480 JPY (~US$17).
