Kyrie Irving is set to release a new ANTA Kai 2 sneaker for Mother’s Day, marking a deeply personal collaboration with Sneaker Room. This project signifies their sixth joint venture and their first since Irving’s move to ANTA, honoring the unique connection between mothers and their children.

About the Sneaker Room x ANTA Kai 2 “Mother’s Day”

The ANTA Kai 2 “Mother’s Day” edition showcases a striking red colorway complemented by sophisticated gold details. The design narrates a poignant story through intact hearts on the exterior, symbolizing a mother’s resilience, and fragmented hearts on the interior, representing personal sorrow and the journey of healing. This release serves as a tribute to Irving’s late mother, Elizabeth, and Sneaker Room CEO Suraj Kaufman’s late mother, Ellen.

Each shoe is a distinct homage to one of these remarkable women. The left shoe, dedicated to Elizabeth, features poppy flowers alongside Australian green and yellow hues, a subtle nod to Irving’s birthplace. Additionally, a music note, heart, and volleyball icon are incorporated, representing her passions. The right shoe honors Ellen with carnations and the blue and yellow colors of Jersey City. Heart icons are present to symbolize the enduring love she provided.

Adding another layer of personal narrative, the midsoles are inscribed with the Roman numerals MCMXCVI and MMVI, the respective years of Elizabeth’s and Ellen’s passing. Notably, all proceeds generated from the sale of these “Mother’s Day” ANTA Kai 2 sneakers will be donated to the Sneaker Room Foundation.

Release Details

To commemorate the launch, Sneaker Room will transform into an ANTA showroom on 3 May, hosting a live DJ, offering exclusive merchandise, and conducting giveaways. Furthermore, a custom-wrapped 2025 INEOS Grenadier, adorned with artwork inspired by the sneakers—Elizabeth’s story on one side and Ellen’s on the other—will be seen driving around New Jersey.

The Sneaker Room x ANTA Kai 2 “Mother’s Day” will be available exclusively at Sneaker Room online and in their physical store on 3 May 2025. Pricing information has not been revealed as of yet, so stay tuned to SNKRDUNK Magazine for the latest updates!
