After more than seven years of operation from its prior location in the Sapporo Esta Building, Pokémon Center Sapporo relocated to the Daimaru Sapporo Department Store in December 2016. In commemoration of the relocation, a promotional Pokémon TCG card—Sapporo’s Pikachu—was released and distributed as part of a related campaign.

About Sapporo’s Pikachu (SM-P Promotional Cards 005/SM-P)

Starting from Pokémon Center Sapporo’s first day of operation from the new location on 1 December 2016 and continuing for as long as stocks lasted, any buyers who purchased at least five booster packs from any Pokémon Center (not just Pokémon Center Sapporo), Pokémon Store, or the Pokémon Center’s Japanese online store would receive a promotional Sapporo’s Pikachu card.

The updated logo of Pokémon Center Sapporo is visible on the right side of the card. The card’s illustration also features Pikachu standing between an Alolan Vulpix and a Popplio; the three Pokémon are the mascots of Pokémon Center Sapporo. The card’s illustration as well as its second attack of Snow Party reference the snowy winters that Sapporo is famous for, while its first attack of Renewal Open alludes to Pokémon Center Sapporo’s reopening.

As this promotional card was tied to a specific event and only available via a limited-time campaign, it has thus accumulated much value in the years since its release.

This cards was never released in English.

The price of a Sapporo’s Pikachu (SM-P Promotional Cards 005/SM-P) card is 40,000 JPY (~US$280).

As of 17 April 2025, this card is selling at below retail price on SNKRDUNK.
