The adidas Samba is in the midst of a renaissance. Arriving in 1949, the pair was originally conceived as a high-performance football boot for icy conditions, but the silhouette has gracefully transitioned into the it shoe of the status quo.

Ahead of the summer, adidas Originals introduces a new variation of the staple silhouette: the Samba JP, presented in a sophisticated “Off White/Wonder Beige/Core Black” colorway.

About the adidas Samba JP “Off White/Wonder Beige”

Inspired by the functionality of past performance models, this retrofitting maintains the original tooling while showcasing a series of subtle yet significant alterations to its upper.

The Samba JP’s upper is crafted from leather and suede, a material pairing nodding to archival design principles while lending a sense of modern refinement. Notably, the quilted toe cap, a direct reference to the design language of classic football boots like the Copa Mundial, represents the shoe’s heritage.

The three stripes along the profile feature an intriguing scale-like texture. A longer tongue and the addition of a distinct heel counter further distinguish the JP edition, a unique perspective compared to the more ubiquitous iterations of the Samba. An understated color scheme allows these design elements to emerge with clarity and impact.
