Along N’s Darmanitan, N’s Reshiram—another card from Battle Partners [SV9]—is one of two supporting pieces in the N’s Zoroark ex deck which lends its attacks to the deck’s titular card. Though not the attacker itself, this card nonetheless plays a crucial role within the deck when placed on the Bench.

About N’s Reshiram (Battle Partners [SV9] 109/100)

N’s Reshiram’s main attack is Virtuous Flame. Although it ordinarily has a cumbersome Energy requirement of four, N’s Zoroark ex bypasses this via Night Joker which can turn into Virtuous Flame if N’s Reshiram is on the Bench, making the attack become much more efficient at 170 damage for two Energy cards. If N’s Zoroark ex has suffered much damage, the player can turn the tables on the opponent with N’s Reshiram’s Powerful Rage attack which dishes out 20 damage per damage counter on the attacking Pokémon.

This Art Rare (AR) card is also known for having one of the most striking Full Art illustrations of any Battle Partners [SV9] card; when it was revealed, it immediately drew much attention. The illustration by Bun Toujo depicts N on the shoulder of Dragon/Fire-type Legendary Pokémon—the Pokémon which is his ace in Gen 5 video games Pokémon White and White 2 (but not Black and Black 2). N’s Reshiram is shown majestically descending from the skies over the ruins of N’s Castle where the climax of Pokémon Black and White takes place.
