Last Thursday, 11 April, in Singapore, the quintessence of adidas, the Superstar silhouette, took center stage. The Original Music Festival, an event that pulsed with the presence of 300 fans, was held at the Esplanade Annex Studio. They gathered alongside Singaporean artistess Regina Song, Lullaboy, Jean Seizure, and Mean for a confluence of sound, style, and sneaker heritage.

The evening was a tribute not only to the shell-toed icon but also to the Firebird Tracksuit—two hallmarks of the German legacy brand. Gaining entry was a declaration of belonging. The choice to wear Superstars, Sambas, Gazelles, or Spezial was the passkey, admitting attendees for free into a carefully constructed world for the true Originals fan.

The four musicians provided the soundtrack to the evening. Regina Song offered the Singapore debut of her single “Fairy”, while Lullaboy presented a first listen to his upcoming record, “Serotonin Sky”. Jean Seizure delivered the introspective “You”, and Mean catered to the hip-hop head with cuts from his latest album, Lifeline.

Nevertheless, creativity wasn’t limited to the stage; “The Studio” offered attendees a chance to customize their experience.

The Jewel Bar allowed guests to adorn themselves with shimmering accents and temporary tattoos. At the Made For You Shoe Bar, sneakers became personal narrative pieces. Meanwhile, the Skate Deck Customisation Bar invited attendees to imprint their vision onto blank decks, turning functional objects into personal art.

Even the food offerings championed this bespoke spirit. The DIY Ramen Station invited guests to curate their bowls from noodles and toppings. Similarly, the PlayMade stand offered build-your-own-bubble tea, extending the theme of choice to every touchpoint.
