In celebration of the first Black player to break the color barrier in Major League Baseball’s modern era.
Jackie Robinson’s legacy transcends baseball. His profound resilience and greatness during the 1940s continue to serve as a potent source of inspiration, galvanizing countless athletes and individuals to confront adversity with a spirit of collective defiance.
As Major League Baseball’s annual Jackie Robinson Day commences on 15 April, the Swoosh has unveiled a tribute to the Brooklyn Dodgers trailblazer: the Nike Cortez TXT “Jackie Robinson Day”.
About the Nike Cortez TXT “Jackie Robinson Day”

The quintessential Nike silhouette adopts a “Photon Dust/Metallic Silver/Gym Red/Black” palette with poignant details that honor Robinson’s indelible mark.

His iconic jersey number, “42,” is prominently featured on the heels. Baseball-inspired stitching further integrates the sporting heritage, a design cue reminiscent of the Air Max 270 City Connect Collection.

Shimmering accents grace the profile Swooshes, with a bespoke label atop the tongue. This Nike Cortez’s textile and suede construction culminates in an all-over print on the insoles, a final, considered nod to the first Black player to break the color barrier in Major League Baseball’s modern era.
