Pokémon TCG Tera Box Deck

The Tera Box deck hasn’t been around for very long; it made its major tournament debut at Champions League Fukuoka in February 2025 where it performed strongly; three of the top 11 finishers used it with the highest finish being Nobuhiko Shimizu in fifth place. However, since then it hasn’t made much of an impact in the metagame. That being said, following the recent introduction of the new rotation to the international metagame, many Pokémon TCG analysts believe that the Tera Box deck could become the next to rise to elite status.

Strategy

The centerpiece of this deck and its main attacker is the Wellspring Ogerpon ex card from Mask of Change [SV6]. Its Torrential Pump attack dishes out 100 damage to the opposing Active Pokémon for three Energy cards; however, it’s Torrential Pump’s additional effect that’s the true standout. Torrential Pump also inflicts 120 damage on an opposing Benched Pokémon of the player’s choice if the player shuffles three Energy cards attached to Wellspring Ogerpon ex into the deck, allowing for snipe opportunities.

Two cards that work well in tandem with Wellspring Ogerpon ex are Stellar Miracle [SV7] duo Fan Rotom and Noctowl. Fan Rotom first uses its Ability of Fan Call to set up the chance to bring in Noctowl. Once Noctowl is in play, the player can then use Jewel Seeker, its Ability, to retrieve Trainer cards which can then be used to power up Wellspring Ogerpon ex with the Energy cards it needs.

In the event that one of the deck’s supporting pieces happens to be a better matchup, Fan Rotom and Noctowl can power up that card instead of Wellspring Ogerpon ex via their Abilities. Some variants of this deck also include Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex from Crimson Haze [SV5a] as a late-game finisher against opposing Pokémon-ex as well as Ditto from Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a] to provide additional options for Fan Rotom.

Price

The total cost of all the cards in the Tera Box deck is at least 11,170 JPY (~US$78).
