[Pokémon TCG] Ditto (Shiny Treasure ex [SV4a] 309/190) [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
Didn't draw the Basic Pokémon you needed in your opening hand? This card can fix that.

The Ditto card which was first released in Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a] and subsequently reprinted in Shiny Treasure ex [SV4a] has established itself as a key supporting piece in the Raging Bolt ex, Chien-Pao ex, and Tera Box decks; it was also often seen in the Palkia VSTAR/Terapagos ex and Lost Zone Box decks prior to those decks’ recent rotation out of the metagame.
About Ditto (Shiny Treasure ex [SV4a] 309/190)
Ditto’s Ability of Transformative Start is the entire reason why it has a place in the current meta. By using Transformative Start on the player’s first turn of the game, if Ditto is in the Active Spot, the player gets to select any Basic Pokémon card from the deck other than another Ditto card and replace the Active Ditto with the selected card. The replaced Ditto is then discarded before the player shuffles the deck. Ditto therefore serves as a way to get a key Pokémon in play right off the bat and, as might be expected, is primarily included in Basic-centric decks such as those previously mentioned.
Of the two versions of this card, by far the more valuable is the one from Shiny Treasure ex [SV4a]. This is because the Shiny Treasure ex [SV4a] version depicts the Shiny version of Ditto and comes in the Shiny-exclusive Rarity of S. In addition, Ditto’s Shiny version is one of the most well-known of all Shinies because in the second-generation main series Pokémon video games Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, many players used a Shiny Ditto to breed their Pokémon in hopes of landing a Shiny by hatching a Pokémon Egg. However, since Gen 3 this method has no longer been able to be used to increase the chances of hatching a Shiny Pokémon.
