Nike Air Foamposite One “Sail Snakeskin” (Sample)
Will this rare iteration ever see the light of day in a wider release?
Recently, a rare sample of the Nike Air Foamposite One “Sail Snakeskin” was spotted in Portland, generating buzz among sneaker collectors. This unreleased version, which appeared at @indexportland near Nike’s headquarters, offers a novel interpretation of the well-known silhouette.
About the Nike Air Foamposite One “Sail Snakeskin” (Sample)
The “Sail Snakeskin” iteration features a pristine, off-white upper with a subtle snakeskin texture. Black overlays provide sharp contrast, while vibrant Habanero Red accents inject energy into the design. Despite its modern aesthetic, this sample dates back to around 2019, likely conceived as part of an internal design exploration. While it shares similarities with the “Albino Snakeskin” version, it exudes a more refined and streamlined feel.

Interestingly, this sample surfaced alongside other highly coveted Foamposites, such as the “Yankees” and “Bronze Cough Drop” versions. Their co-occurrence suggests they may have originated from someone within Nike’s sample distribution network.
Although the “Sail Snakeskin” sample has already been acquired, its emergence has reignited excitement among collectors, fueling hopes for more rare Foamposite discoveries.
There are indications that Nike is planning a resurgence of the Foamposite line in 2025. With more unreleased samples appearing in public, anticipation is mounting—not just for re-releases of classic models but also for bold new designs. As a result, unexpected drops may occur throughout the year.
