Released in Selection 10, Galaxy-Eyes Cipher X Dragon was one of the set’s cover cards. However, it wasn’t with regard to collectability where the card’s true value lay—but rather, with regard to its playability.

About Galaxy-Eyes Cipher X Dragon (Selection 10 SLT1-JP020)

Some players who use the Ryu-Ge deck have started including the Galaxy-Eyes Cipher X Dragon card in the Extra Deck. This is because the card has an effect which prevents the opponent from targeting the player’s controlled Light monsters with card effects until the end of the opponent’s turn once the player has detached two materials from Galaxy-Eyes Cipher X Dragon. This Rank 10 monster card is relatively simple to bring into play; all that are needed to do so are two Level 10 monster cards. This in turn serves to protect the deck’s main cards such as the Sosei Ryu-Ge Mistva card from Deck Build Pack: Crossover Breakers.

This card comes in two rarities; of the two, the higher is the Secret Rare version. Galaxy-Eyes Cipher X Dragon is a Ranked-Up form of Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon as well as a Cipher counterpart of Number 62: Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon.

The sale price of a Galaxy-Eyes Cipher X Dragon (Selection 10 SLT1-JP020) card is relatively low despite being a Secret Rare at just 880 JPY (~US$6).
