PSA Suspends Grading Submissions From International Customers

Clearly, as far as the non-US TCG community is concerned, "MAGA" doesn't stand for "Make America Grade Again".

Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), the world’s leading provider of TCG grading services, has suspended grading submissions from international customers until further notice. The announcement was made on 2 April 2025 and was effective immediately.

TCG Tariffs Impacts

California-based PSA made the decision due to the likely impact on the many tariffs imposed by the US government on the same day. According to PSA, those tariffs would have caused grading submission fees to have become excessive to a point at which the vast majority of customers would no longer be willing to pay for the grading services.

While the fallout of PSA’s suspension of its grading services for international customers is yet to be ascertained, many in the TCG community expect PSA’s market share as a grading service provider to decline as a result while UK-based Ace Grading as well as Certified Guaranty Company (CGC) and Beckett Grading Services (BGS) can be expected to benefit as a result.

Although CGC and BGS are headquartered in the US, both have opened grading service centers in Germany; as such, CGC and BGS customers seeking to avoid the tariffs can opt to have their cards graded in Germany.
