Bandit Running, fresh from launching their first Los Angeles store adjacent to Renegade, has partnered with ASICS to release their debut collaborative sneaker. This reimagining of the Novablast 5—the Bandit x ASICS NOVABLAST 5—draws inspiration from the art of Japanese-American sculptor Isamu Noguchi, bridging the heritage of both brands.

About the Bandit x ASICS NOVABLAST 5

The Bandit x ASICS NOVABLAST 5 showcases a soft, off-white color scheme, with the upper constructed from a blend of sheer and translucent materials, echoing the iconic paper lanterns still crafted by Noguchi’s studio. A textured knit pattern on the upper, reminiscent of gravel, pays homage to Noguchi’s stone sculptures. Sheer taped overlays on the sides form an abstract representation of the Bandit logo.

Subtle red highlights appear on the midsole heel and near the tongue, referencing the red Noguchi logo commonly seen on his lanterns. This red accent is also present in a small co-branded word mark near the toe and on the insoles, which feature a Japanese typographic design. Unique details include an industrial tag stitched onto the toe box and a sculpted, pleated tongue. Each pair is packaged with a custom drawstring bag made from Japanese ripstop fabric, complete with a translucent tag holder.

Release Details

Bandit members will have early access to the Bandit x ASICS NOVABLAST 5 on 3 April, with a wider release scheduled for 4 April on the Bandit online store.
