Mizuno’s MXR—a performance icon—steps into the fashion spotlight with a JW Studios redesign by acclaimed product designer Jakob Werner. Themed “Kakishibu”, Werner introduces premium textures, muted tones, and architectural lines, transforming the silhouette into a statement piece for the style-conscious.
About the Mizuno MXR “Kakishibu” by JW Studios
Paying tribute to Mizuno’s heritage, the custom design arrives with unexpected, handcrafted details. Each pair is hand-dyed, ensuring subtle, organic color variations, while a unique fabric made from fermented persimmons is subtly incorporated at two key points. The chainstitch detailing and carefully selected laces further underscore the meticulous craftsmanship.
Release Details
The Mizuno MXR “Kakishibu” will be exclusively available via a community giveaway. Google form entries will be opened from 31 March, 7PM (CET) to 6 April, 6:59PM (CET). All the best!
