Grand Tree, one of the Pokémon TCG’s rare examples of an ACE SPEC card which is also a Stadium card, is a card which has seen use in certain variants of the Charizard ex and Pidgeot ex decks. The inclusion of this card from Stellar Miracle [SV7] can greatly help those decks with their respective setups.

About Grand Tree (Stellar Miracle [SV7] 101/102)

When Grand Tree is in play, either player may search their respective decks for a Stage 1 Pokémon which evolves from a Basic Pokémon which they have in play, then use that card to evolve the Basic Pokémon in question. If this is done, the player may then proceed to do likewise with the Stage 2 Pokémon that evolves from that same Stage 1 Pokémon before shuffling the deck. As such, Grand Tree allows the player to evolve a Basic Pokémon which evolves twice into a Stage 2 on the same turn in one fell swoop. Of course, as an ACE SPEC card, just one copy of Grand Tree may be included in the deck; no other ACE SPEC card may be included as well.

Since the Charizard ex and Pidgeot ex decks are built around Stage 2 Pokémon, it stands to reason that both decks can benefit from the inclusion of Grand Tree. The Stadium card serves as an easy way to get the deck’s centerpiece Pokémon (or in the case of the Charizard ex deck, perhaps one of its key supporting Pokémon) in play while circumventing the Item-locking effect of the Itchy Pollen attack of the Budew card from Terastal Festival ex [SV8a].

Interestingly, despite the card’s rarity as an ACE SPEC card as well as its impressive illustration, this card hasn’t accumulated the value which one might think it would have. The card’s price to this day remains relatively low.
