The scene shown is late in the storyline of the video games since by this point, Ethan already owns Ho-Oh—as the card’s name alludes to.

This card is one of five in Heat Wave Arena [SV9a] which comes in the rarity of Special Art Rare (SAR). Although Ho-Oh, the box Legendary of Pokémon Gold, has long been in the shadow of its more popular counterpart Lugia, this impressive card might go some way towards shrinking the popularity gap between the two.
