The partnership between Teddy Santis and New Balance, nurtured through his Aimé Leon Dore (ALD) label, continues to flourish. Beyond his leadership of New Balance’s MADE in USA collection, Santis infuses New Balance designs with a refined sensibility via ALD.

Even as anticipation builds for the September arrival of the Porsche-inspired 993 collaboration, ALD has whetted appetites with a preview of its Spring/Summer 2025 collection, showcasing glimpses of two entirely new New Balance silhouettes.

About the Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance Spring/Summer 2025 Release

The trailer beautifully captures the brand’s essence: a mix of “old-money” sophistication, Teddy Santis’s Greek roots, and a love for basketball. The visual journey, from their Mulberry Street storefront in New York City to the ALD-sponsored Sonny Basketball court and finally to Greece, provides behind-the-scenes insights into their design approach.

The trailer confirms an upcoming collaboration with The North Face alongside inline apparel and footwear offerings, but the true highlights are the two previously unseen New Balance sneakers.

The first silhouette subtly echoes the New Balance 1000, a model Santis played a key role in reviving last year through his work at NB and an ALD collaborative release.

It embodies a vintage, retro-futuristic aesthetic reminiscent of classic tech runners. While the 1000’s influence is evident, the design also appears to draw inspiration from the relatively obscure RX505, a spiked trail hiking silhouette from New Balance’s archives. This connection is particularly noticeable in the midfoot paneling, marked by two leather strips that extend back and converge at the heel tab.

A range of colorways was also seen, including a “White Sea Salt” version constructed primarily from leather and high-visibility options that combine mesh and leather. The ALD logo is prominently displayed on the heel, likely alongside New Balance branding for subsequent inline releases.

Details regarding cushioning and technical specifications remain scarce, though glimpses reveal molded foam with a TPU shank for midfoot stability.

The second model presents a different design language: a low-cut, laceless, and tongueless construction. Its neoprene upper, reinforced with TPU film around the toe and midfoot, incorporates a bungee cord at the collar for a secure, adaptable fit. A co-branded insole and a Vibram rubber outsole complete the design.

Release Details

These two unnamed New Balance silhouettes are expected to debut in 2025 as part of the Aimé Leon Dore collaboration, paving the way for broader inline availability thereafter.
