[ONE PIECE Card Game] Perona (Wings of the Captain [OP-06] OP06-021) [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
The "Ghost Princess" gets the Parallel Art treatment—again.
Most ONE PIECE Card Game collectors know the Perona card from Wings of the Captain [OP-06] as one of the set’s standout cards which have Parallel Art versions of female characters. Most players, meanwhile, know it as the card around which the Green/Black Perona deck is built around. In either case, the card has just received a reprint with an all-new Parallel Art illustration.
About Perona (Wings of the Captain [OP-06] OP06-021)
Although this card has already had a prior Parallel Art version, this one is significantly rarer and thus more valuable as it comes in the rarity of L-SPC. As for the element involving the card’s value boost that comes from featuring a female character, the illustration further plays into that. The “Ghost Princess” is shown giving a side glance from under her parasol; it can also be seen that her midriff is somewhat exposed. Both these visual elements combine to form a somewhat suggestive feel to the imagery.
This Perona card is also the centerpiece of the Green/Black Perona deck. Once per turn, the player may choose to activate one of two Leader effects. The player may either reduce one of the opposing Character cards’ cost by 1 or rest an opposing Character card with a cost of 4 or less. The cost reduction effect is typically used against high-cost Characters to bring them into range of a KO. The Character-resting effect, on the other hand, forces opponents to devote resources to protect those rested Character cards; it can also be combined with cards such as Ryuma from Wings of the Captain [OP-06] or Sabo from 500 Years in the Future [OP-07] to set up easy KO’s.
