The Enel card from Awakening of the New Era [OP-05] was a Leader card which was best known for its place in the ONE PIECE Card Game metagame. Ever since the set’s release in August 2023, the Yellow Enel deck which is built around this card has been a tournament staple. Now, that card has collectability appeal as well—it’s just received a seriously impressive Parallel Art reprint.

About Enel (Awakening of the New Era [OP-05] OP05-098)

With a rarity of L-SPC, the Parallel Art illustration of this card features the so-called “God of Skypiea” who was actually the Skypiea Arc’s main villain firing an electrical blast via the powers of his Devil Fruit, the Rumble-Rumble Fruit. The attack which Enel is launching is his Vari attack; however, it’s unclear as to which of Vari’s four intensities that this particular attack shown is set to.

As was previously mentioned, this card is the titular card of the Yellow Enel deck and as such is already well-known among those who are well-versed in the gameplay aspect of the ONE PIECE Card Game. The card’s Leader effect favors extending the game into a long one. Once per turn during the opponent’s turn, if the player runs out of Life cards, the player can add a card from the top of the deck to the now-empty stack of Life cards, then trash a card from the hand. This effect dovetails nicely with the defensive nature of the deck.
