Jordan Brand frequently reinterprets popular designs across its various sneaker models. A prime example is the upcoming Air Jordan 5 OG “Black Metallic Reimagined”, which has inspired a new Jordan 1 Mid available now, dubbed the Air Jordan 1 Mid “Black Metallic Reimagined”.

About the Air Jordan 1 Mid “Black Metallic Reimagined”

The Air Jordan 1 Mid “Black Metallic Reimagined” draws heavily from the classic “Black Metallic” color scheme made famous by Michael Jordan’s fifth signature shoe. The shoe features a predominantly Black upper, but instead of the AJ5’s mixed materials, it opts for a more conventional full-leather build.

A Metallic Silver nylon tongue provides contrast and nods to the AJ5’s signature 3M reflective tongue. Additional design cues borrowed from the AJ5 include a Fire Red woven tongue tag and reflective accents on the Swoosh, collar, and heel overlays.

A White embroidered Jordan Wings logo on the collar and matching laces provide the only other white elements on the upper. The design is completed with a Black rubber midsole and a translucent icy blue rubber outsole.

Release Details

The Air Jordan 1 Mid “Black Metallic Reimagined” was released on 24 January 2025 via Nike and select retailers, both online and in physical stores. It’s available in men’s sizing for US$135 and grade school (GS) sizing for US$120.
