The Dragon Ruler Duel Set will be one of two Duel Sets to be released and sold at the Yu-Gi-Oh Championship Series Japan Tokyo 2025 on 12 April. It will be highlighted by an Ultra Parallel Rare version of a Dragocalamity card.

About Dragocalamity (Dragon Ruler Duel Set 25YJ-JPT01)

The Dragocalamity card from the Dragon Ruler Duel Set will be a reprint of a card from Alliance Insight. Although not in and of itself a card of the Dragon Ruler archetype, it does support such cards—which is why it’s included in the Dragon Ruler Duel Set.

The name of the card is a reference to Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME THE CHRONICLES, a short animation produced by Konami animation in honor of the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG’s 25th anniversary. In that animation, the Dragon Ruler clip was titled “Dragon Rulers the Paranormal Calamity”. Further in-universe references can be seen in the card’s illustration; Chasmatis, Dragon Ruler of Auroras and Eclepsis, Dragon Ruler of Woes are present in it.

The combination of the card’s status as an event-exclusive one and its allusions to the in-universe Yu-Gi-Oh TCG lore is likely to attract buyers once the card makes it to the open market.

Release Details

Although there will be a Dragocalamity card to be released in English, it’s unlikely that this specific version will. Additionally, its price won’t be known until the first copies make it to the open market. Stay tuned for more information on that.
