The 1st Anniversary Set was a ONE PIECE Card Game product released in China in April 2024 to commemorate the first anniversary of the ONE PIECE Card Game’s debut there. The product came with a slew of cards featuring alternate-art reprints exclusive to the 1st Anniversary Set; one of them was this Nico Robin card originally from Romance Dawn [OP-01].

About Nico Robin (Romance Dawn [OP-01] OP01-017)

Part of the appeal of this card comes from the fact that the product not only marks a milestone but was also initially only made available in China. In addition, this card features an illustration which hasn’t been used on any other version of this card in either Japanese or English; this fact makes the card stand out and attract demand.

Of course, a significant part of the card’s demand has to do with the fact that it depicts one of the most prominently featured female characters within the One Piece manga; the illustration plays up this point by having the Straw Hat Pirates’ archaeologist stand in a somewhat suggestive position that emphasizes her physical features as she clutches her dagger. The card’s Parallel Art illustration also features an aesthetic which does incorporate several Chinese-influenced design elements, referencing the source of the card.

Release Details

While other versions of this card do exist in Japanese and English, this particular iteration of the card was only released in Simplified Chinese.

A copy of the Nico Robin (Romance Dawn [OP-01] OP01-017) card from the 1st Anniversary Set has a sale price of 7,888 JPY (~US$50).
