Nike Vaporfly NEXT% 4 “White/Obsidian Mist” [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
Arriving just in time for the spring marathon season.
The Nike Vaporfly, a series that debuted with the game-changing Vaporfly 4% in 2017 has since spawned a family of speed demons: the NEXT% 1, 2, and 3, arriving like clockwork every two years in 2019, 2021, and 2023, respectively. And because punctuality is key when you’re chasing records, Nike is unveiling the Vaporfly NEXT% 4 in 2025, keeping that bi-annual date with destiny.
About the Nike Vaporfly NEXT% 4 “White/Obsidian Mist”
Behold the first glimpse of the Vaporfly NEXT% 4 in its “White Obsidian Mist” garb—a colorway so neutral and clean, it’s practically monastic. From top to toe, it’s trying to lull the competition into a false sense of security before blasting past them like a caffeinated cheetah.
The upper boasts a new knit pattern that looks lighter than air, possibly woven from actual moonbeams, with design cues borrowed from its more attention-grabbing cousin, the Alphafly 3. This familial resemblance is most evident in the gargantuan Swoosh that’s not just painted onto the upper but has apparently decided to take a dip below the sole like it’s testing the waters of the forefoot.
Moving our gaze up, we encounter the lightweight two-tone tongue: white on the bottom, and a shimmering, chrome-like silver on top, adorning the “Vaporfly 4” branding. The sole unit, meanwhile, is practically shouting about its ZoomX foam, visible through a logo on the medial side. This is one of Nike’s most beloved and technologically advanced cushioning setups.
Nestled within this bouncy goodness is a full-length carbon fiber shank, affectionately dubbed the Flyplate by Nike, designed to propel runners forward with the force of a rocket-assisted kangaroo.
