Anticipation is building for the 2025 Lunar New Year, which marks the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac. Capitalizing on this occasion, Nike’s Kobe Brand is poised to release a commemorative collection, headlined by the Kobe 5 Protro “Year of the Mamba” and complemented by a dedicated apparel line. This capsule collection is slated for release in January 2025.

About the Kobe x Nike “Year of the Mamba” Apparel Collection

Preliminary images offer a glimpse into the four key apparel pieces comprising the collection: a long-sleeve t-shirt, a crewneck sweatshirt, jogger pants, and a jacket.

The long-sleeve t-shirt will be offered in a trio of color options: white, red, and black. Each iteration, priced at US$55, showcases a stylized snake motif interwoven with Kobe Bryant’s five championship rings and the iconic sheath logo.

The crewneck sweatshirt, retailing for US$120, presents a textured basketball mesh-like exterior. Available in “Sail” and black, it features the Kobe sheath logo prominently on the chest, while an embroidered snake ascends both sleeves.

The jogger pants, priced at US$120 each, will be available in black and “Sail”. These feature the Kobe sheath logo beneath the left pocket (red on black, black on “Sail”) and a striking gold stripe incorporating the Year of the Snake pattern.

While images of the jacket are not yet available, it is anticipated to be released in black and “Sail” colorways, with a projected retail price of US$275.

Release Details

The Kobe x Nike “Year of the Mamba” apparel collection, comprising the long-sleeve t-shirt, a crewneck sweatshirt, jogger pants, and a jacket in their various color options, will be available via Nike on 9 January 2025.

Retail pricing is as follows: long-sleeve t-shirt (US$55), crewneck sweatshirt (US$120), jogger pants (US$120), and jacket (US$275).
