Diving into the annals of basketball lore, adidas revisits a collection that reverently echoes the early footwear history of Kobe Bryant during his (oft-forgotten) adidas tenure.

Now reintroduced as the “Crazy” series, this redux resurrects the adidas Crazy 2, formerly known as the adidas Kobe 2, resplendent in its nostalgic “All-Star” colorway.

Birthed at the turn of the 21st century, the Crazy 2, with its low-top profile, drew inspiration from the sleek contours of the Audi TT. This audacious, futuristic silhouette first graced the court in monochromatic hues, including the now-iconic USA Flag edition that rose to prominence when a pre-NBA LeBron James donned it during a pivotal high school matchup.

Though undeniably innovative, the Crazy 2 ultimately diverged from Kobe Bryant’s evolving on-court preferences. His subsequent departure from adidas ushered in a period of “sneaker-free agency”, ultimately culminating in the birth of his legendary Nike signature line—a pivotal moment that reshaped basketball footwear culture forever.

Release Details
