Celadon Gym Leader Erika has been one of the biggest fan-favorite Gym Leaders ever since her debut in first-generation video games Pokémon Red and Blue. In the Pokémon TCG sphere, it should thus come as no surprise that just about every card which has featured the Grass-type specialist has gone on to be a major hit. The Erika’s Hospitality card from seventh-generation set Tag Bolt [SM9] is no exception.

About Erika’s Hospitality (Tag Bolt [SM9] 107/095)

As is almost always the case, any card featuring a Full Art illustration of a female character is likely to garner serious value; this is true of this Super Rare (SR) card as well. In addition, Erika is part of a character archetype which has historically appealed to large portions of the Pokémon TCG fandom; this further adds to the card’s popularity.

The card’s background features a floral and leaf pattern that alludes to Erika’s status as a Grass-type expert. This is further emphasized by the position in which Erika’s hands are placed so as to make it look as though Erika is holding one of the flowers in the background pattern. Similarly, the juxtaposition of the background design against Erika herself also makes it look as though petals are falling around the lower portion of her kimono; this adds even more depth and appeal to the visuals.
