The NFL and Nike have solidified their long-standing partnership with a new 10-year agreement, extending Nike’s role as the league’s exclusive provider of on-field uniforms, sideline apparel, and fan merchandise through 2038.

“This partnership renewal is a testament to the strength and success of our collaboration with the NFL,” said Elliott Hill, Nike’s recently appointed CEO. “As we embark on this new chapter, we’re committed to co-creating cutting-edge solutions that meet the rapidly changing needs of NFL athletes and fans while fuelling the league’s growth and development initiatives.”

Nike first became the NFL’s uniform supplier in 2012, taking over from Reebok, which held the position from 2001 to 2011. Over the past decade, the partnership has brought significant advancements in athletic wear, including the introduction of stretch-woven uniforms and moisture-wicking Dri-FIT technology.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell also praised the extended partnership, emphasizing Nike’s global influence. “They’re a global brand, an iconic brand all over the world associated with great athletes and great sports,” Goodell said in a statement to The Associated Press. “They’re the kind of brand that, in partnership with us, will be effective in encouraging kids to play the game globally. This partnership brings credibility to both of us.”

The announcement follows closely on the heels of Nike’s renewed agreements with the NBA, WNBA, and G League, ensuring their continued presence in professional basketball as a supplier of uniforms and fan gear.

As the partnership enters its second decade, both organizations are poised to continue pushing the boundaries of performance apparel and fan engagement, cementing their shared legacy in the sports world.
