Celebrating its legacy, the iconic G-SHOCK DW-5000C, first launched in 1983, returns in December 2024 as the DW-5000R—a modern reissue of the original timepiece that started it all.

While reissues of the original G-SHOCK have made appearances before, the new DW-5000R takes authenticity to a whole new level. From the stainless steel case to the iconic red, blue, and yellow face, every detail—including the shape and length of the band, the precise placement of the dimples, and the design of the case back—has been meticulously recreated to mirror the original.

But it’s not just about nostalgia. Modern updates include a high-brightness LED backlight and eco-conscious biomass plastics used for the bezel and band. Plus, the case size has been subtly increased from 41.6mm to 42.3mm, blending timeless design with contemporary upgrades.

Priced at 33,000 JPY (~US$220), the G-SHOCK DW-5000R will launch on 13 December 2024 at G-SHOCK boutiques, select retailers, and gshock.casio.com. Don’t miss out!
