The first-ever Pokémon Gym Deluxe store in Southeast Asia opens its doors over the weekend of 11-13 October 2024. A recent announcement by Pokémon Malaysia confirmed that Malaysia will play host to region’s first store of its kind; it will be run in collaboration with AM Cards Collectibles and will be located in Klang. As might be expected, it will sell a wide range of Pokémon products including items related to the Pokémon TCG and video games.

However, this Pokémon Gym Deluxe store goes beyond being merely a retail outlet. It will also serve as a community hub for Pokémon fans who may also use the venue to play the Pokémon TCG or video games as well as exchange Pokémon either in their video games or TCG cards. There’ll be ample space for visitors to gather and engage with fellow Pokémon enthusiasts.

This announcement marks a major milestone in the history of the Pokémon franchise in Southeast Asia; there’s speculation that if the store in Klang ends up being a success, similar ones will be set up across the region in the future. Additionally, this concept might be representative of The Pokémon Company’s new retail strategy in Southeast Asia.
