[Pokémon TCG] Charizard & Braixen GX (Remix Bout [SM11a] 068/064) [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
Arguably the "sequel" to the Reshiram & Charizard GX card first seen in Double Blaze [SM10].
Seventh-generation Pokémon TCG set Remix Bout [SM11a] wasn’t a particularly memorable set; it contained relatively few major pulls. However, one exception to this was the Special Art Rare (SAR) Charizard & Braixen GX card, which has been proven to have major appeal for several reasons.
About Charizard & Braixen GX (Remix Bout [SM11a] 068/064)
In addition to the card’s impressive rarity of SAR, the card itself is a Tag Team card featuring Charizard and Braixen—two Fire-type Starter Pokémon evolutions from five generations which are both highly popular in their own right. The card comes in holofoil that’s full of sparkles to draw out the visual impact of the Brilliant Flame attack that the duo is unleashing.
This card can also be seen as a “sequel card” in a sense. One of the most iconic Pokémon TCG cards of Gen 7 was the Reshiram & Charizard GX card, which was first released in Double Blaze [SM10], a set that was launched in March 2019—four months before Remix Bout [SM11a]. That card’s illustration has something of a “master and apprentice” vibe to it—this time around, Charizard has become the mentor, with Braixen as the protégé. It’s notable that this card pictures Braixen in the foreground, leaving Charizard in the background.
