As 2025 approaches, the ASICS GEL-LYTE III celebrates its 35th anniversary. Over the past three decades, this silhouette has undergone countless transformations, from inline releases to collaborative ventures, solidifying its status as one of ASICS’ most beloved models.

To commemorate this milestone, the Japanese legacy sportswear brand has entrusted the creative director of mita sneakers, Shigeyuki Kunii, with the task of crafting a special collaborative colorway. Drawing inspiration from the GEL-LYTE V, a previous collaboration with mita sneakers, the “DRIED ROSE” iteration maintains the familiar color palette and blocking scheme.

About the mita sneakers x ASICS SportStyle GEL-LYTE III OG “DRIED ROSE”

The GEL-LYTE III OG “DRIED ROSE” features a red mesh toe box that complements the suede details adorning the mudguard, Tiger stripes, and heel overlays. A rich Bordeaux red, reminiscent of dried roses, graces the suede panels on the eyelets, vamp, midfoot, and split tongue. Uniquely, this iteration incorporates a zipper on the signature split tongue.

Inside the sneaker, a light red sockliner provides a subtle pop of color, while the insole features the chain link fence logo, a hallmark of mita sneaker collaborations. The design culminating over the GEL-cushioned foam midsole, paired with a gum rubber outsole.

Release Details

The mita sneakers x ASICS SportStyle GEL-LYTE III OG “DRIED ROSE”, priced at 19,800 JPY (~US$135), is launching in Japan on 7 October through mita sneakers and ASICS.
