[Update 3 Mar 2025] The Apron Records x Nike Air Max 180, priced at US$150 and launching on 8 March, features a unique blend of materials including shaggy fabric, reflective synthetic, scaly leather, and animal-print leather, all in a cohesive pine green and black color palette, inspired by founder Steven Julien’s early musical experiences in his aunt’s salon, as evidenced by a straight razor emblem on the laces. The pair will be available via Nike brick-and-click stores and Apron Records channels.

The titular Apron Records x Nike Air Max 180 collaboration is slated for 2025. This freshman effort between the London-based music label and the legacy sportswear brand promises to deliver a new interpretation of the Air Max 180, the groundbreaking model that first introduced 180-degree visible Air cushioning.

Apron Records, founded in 2014 by Steven Julien (FunkinEven), has championed Black music across a diverse spectrum, from jazz and hip-hop to electronic and fusion.

This collaboration between Apron Records and Nike on the Air Max 180 succeeds the news of the NOCTA x Nike Air Max Plus, adding another exciting dimension to the ever-diverse crossovers of music and footwear.

While the NOCTA partnership has a well-established design language, this first-time team-up leaves plenty to the imagination, which is reason enough for excitement. Given the label’s sonic pedigree, we can expect a palette as eclectic as the genre of music it houses.
