[Pokémon TCG] International Expansion Set Release: Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
To be headlined by cards depicting Pokémon-ex forms of Legendary Pokémon as well as Terastallized Pokémon-ex forms of Eeveelutions.
[Update 13 Jan 2025] God Packs have been confirmed for inclusion in Prismatic Evolutions [PRE]. Just like in the set’s Japanese counterpart Terastal Festival ex [SV8a], God Packs in Prismatic Evolutions will contain one ordinary card and nine special illustration rares—one each of Eevee and its eight evolutions.
[Update 6 Jan 2025] Such has been the demand for Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] that suppliers are no longer able to keep up; product allocations have been greatly reduced at many suppliers around the world. In the UK, an average store will be receiving just 40% of what was requested from the distributors while in the US, that figure plummets to around 10 to 15%.
Meanwhile, in Australia and New Zealand, all pre-orders for the Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box which were placed after 9 November 2024 will only be arriving in May or June 2025. As such, in those countries, only buyers who pre-ordered it early enough will receive it within the first few months of the product’s release on 17 January.
On a more positive note, it’s also been confirmed that some of the Master Ball Mirror cards in Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] will include those whose Japanese versions were from ex Starter Decks: Generations [SVM]. Since those cards did not have Master Ball Mirror prints in Japanese, this therefore means that Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] will include the first-ever English-exclusive Master Ball Mirror cards.
[Update 26 Dec 2024] It has now been confirmed that Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] will include reverse holofoil, Poké Ball Mirror, and Master Ball Mirror prints.
This also means that the coveted Master Ball Mirror print cards from Terastal Festival ex [SV8a] will no longer be Japanese-exclusive starting from the release date of Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] on 17 January 2025.
[Update 6 Nov 2024] The images of the special illustration rare cards depicting Eevee and its eight evolutions have now been posted on the Twitter account of PTCGL News. Head to the gallery for them.
In addition, the set’s acronym has now been confirmed as [PRE]. It’s also now known that Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] will have a total of 131 non-secret rare cards.
[Update 4 Nov 2024] The name of the set is now officially confirmed to be “Prismatic Evolutions”. Images of the set’s logo and booster packs are also now available; browse the gallery for them.
Additionally, the card rarity breakdown of Prismatic Evolutions is now known; it’s as follows:
More than 175 cards
6 ACE SPEC Trainer cards
10 Pokémon-ex and 15 Terastallized Pokémon-ex
12 ultra rare Supporter cards
32 special illustration rare Pokémon-ex and Supporter cards
5 hyper rare gold etched Pokémon ex cards
Prismatic Evolutions will also include two sets of reverse holofoil cards—one with a Poké Ball background, the second with a Master Ball background.
[Update 10 Oct 2024] The name of this set has now been confirmed to be “Prismatic Evolution”. In addition, it’s now known that Prismatic Evolution will not have any individually-sold booster packs. Instead, booster packs will be purchasable via a Poster Collection, a Binder Collection, an Elite Trainer Box, and three Tech Sticker Collections.

A new Pokémon TCG international expansion set has now been confirmed for release. While an official name hasn’t yet been confirmed, a set with the provisional title of “Scarlet & Violet 8.5” is slated for international launch on 17 January 2025.
About Scarlet & Violet 8.5
In addition to the set itself, other products associated with the set will be dropping on the same day. These items include a Poster Collection, a Binder Collection, an Elite Trainer Box, and three Tech Sticker Collections. Though unconfirmed, it’s widely expected that Scarlet & Violet 8.5 ex Boxes and Mini Tins will be on the way as well.
The cards from Scarlet & Violet 8.5 will primarily be English versions of cards from the ex Starter Decks: Generations collection as well as Terastal Festival. As such, the most notable cards from Scarlet & Violet 8.5 will likely be those of Pokémon-ex forms of Legendary Pokémon, which headline the ex Starter Decks: Generations collection, as well as those of Terastallized Pokémon-ex forms of Eeveelutions, which headline Terastal Festival.
No retail prices linked to Scarlet & Violet 8.5 or any of its associated products have yet been finalized.
