The Nike Air Rift, divisive yet iconic, is set to make a return this December, in monochromatic black and white colorways. Its distinctive tabi-toe design, while polarizing to some, has endeared it to countless others.

About the Nike Air Rift

Renowned for its unconventional design, inspired by the barefoot runners of Kenya, the Air Rift features a tabi-toe, open forefoot and heel sections, and a bulbous sole. Its “Rift” name is borrowed from Kenya’s Great Rift Valley. While not technically an ACG model, the shoe shares a similar spirit of adventure and playfulness.

Traditionally crafted from nylon and canvas, this iteration of the silhouette introduces a more sophisticated twist with all-leather uppers. Nike’s decision to revive the Air Rift aligns with a broader trend of reintroducing archival models that resonate with the outdoor-minded “gorpcore” aesthetic. Other notable examples of this revival include the ACG Rufus and Terra Humara.

Release Details
