Reebok Engine A [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
While not a signature shoe, Reese will be the face of the Reebok Engine A throughout the WNBA season, further establishing her as a key player in the league.
Reebok WNBA star Angel Reese is making waves with the debut of the Engine A, Reebok’s first on-court performance basketball shoe since the early 2010s. This launch marks the brand’s return to basketball, slated to take place in Spring 2025, with Reese taking center stage in this significant moment.
The Reebok Engine A reintroduces Reebok’s Energy Return System (ERS) technology, now reimagined for today’s athletes. The design draws inspiration from the brand’s ’90s Mobius line, blending retro style with modern performance.
About the Reebok Engine A
The shoe features a distinctive exoskeleton design, allowing for vibrant color blocking, while lightweight synthetic materials offer both support and breathability. A molded heel counter and internal support structure ensure that players stay secure during every dynamic move, from baseline drives to post-up plays.
At the core of the Reebok Engine A is the updated ERS cushioning system, enhanced with nitrogen-infused foam that absorbs impact and propels the foot forward. Additional comfort and bounce are provided by SUPERFLOAT foam in the heel and forefoot. The shoe’s stability is reinforced by a high-density foam rim and internal shank, with a TPU midsole accent and ‘sway bar’ design paying tribute to classic ’80s ERS models.
The outsole of the Engine A is engineered for the demands of basketball, featuring high-abrasion rubber with a multi-directional, modified herringbone traction pattern for superior grip. Underfoot cutouts reveal the SUPERFLOAT core, adding a visual element that emphasizes the shoe’s performance-driven design. Angel Reese showcased the Reebok Engine A ahead of the highly anticipated rookie match-up against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, signaling its arrival just as she pushes the Chicago Sky toward the playoffs.
