According to a recent post on the PokeInvesting subreddit, an English Venusaur (Base Set 15/102) card from the first generation of the Pokémon TCG has just sold for US$22,000 on eBay.

The card was a CGC 10, which is approximately equivalent to a PSA 9.5. It was a first-edition card and came in holofoil.

The sale was the second-most expensive on record among all sales of this specific card. In October 2020, a holofoil PSA 10 Gem Mint first-edition version, once again in English, sold for US$28,255.
