Los Angeles-based Brain Dead is known for its wide range of collaborations, from extensive partnerships like the Oakley Factory Team to simpler projects such as last year’s popular ASICS GEL-Nimbus 9. During Paris Fashion Week, they introduced a new brand to their roster in their usual playful style, revealing a pair of adidas Bowling Shoes that, for now, are limited to friends and family. However, their latest collaboration, a pair of adidas Stan Smiths, is set to be released to the public in early September 2024.
About the Brain Dead x adidas Stan Smith Pack
In a twist on traditional design, the Stan Smiths feature Brain Dead’s signature touch, replacing the iconic Three Stripes perforations on the side panels with the brand’s distinctive brain logo. Available in pine green and soft pink, the shoes also feature long-haired turf-like fabric on the heel, a detail that Brain Dead has used in previous collaborations, such as the 2022 Reebok Shaqnosis and Club C. This fabric is secured with jagged exposed stitching, complementing the distressed stitching around the laces.
Despite these playful and cartoonish elements, the shoes maintain a balance with more classic features like leather lining and contrast gum soles, echoing the “worlds collide” theme seen in their earlier bowling shoe release.
Release Details
