ASICS GEL-NYC Utility [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
The silhouette is designed for a more rugged, outdoor-oriented aesthetic.
The ASICS GEL-NYC, initially introduced in a high-profile collaboration with Awake NY, has swiftly evolved from a limited release to a core part of the brand’s lineup. Its popularity rivals established models like the GEL-1130, GT-2160, and GEL-Kayano 14. Building on this success, ASICS is set to introduce the GEL-NYC Utility in September 2024.
About the ASICS GEL-NYC Utility
The ASICS GEL-NYC Utility will make its debut in three colorways: “Black/Carbon”, “Steeple Grey/Graphite Grey”, and “Beachy Blue/Tan”.
The silhouette is designed for a more rugged, outdoor-oriented aesthetic and retains the ASICS GEL-NYC’s signature silhouette and sole unit while incorporating several functional upgrades. TPU replaces leather in the quarter panel, featuring extended eyelets for enhanced foot security.
Fabric strips replace the top eyelets, and the shoe includes a heel pull tab, a small forefoot logo, and rope laces. A shift from mesh to nylon in the base layer provides increased durability for varied weather conditions.
The ASICS GEL-NYC Utility will launch on 1 September 2024 in the three abovementioned colorways. Each will retail for US$160, representing a US$30 premium over the standard ASICS GEL-NYC.
