The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Paris” Draws Inspiration From the City’s Catacombs

Nike has introduced a new Air Force 1 Low colorway dubbed “Paris”. Contrary to its name, the sneaker draws inspiration not from the city’s hosting of the Olympic Games 2024 (neither the city-wide blackout the day after the opening ceremony) but from its subterranean depths, specifically the Catacombs.

For those not privvy, the Paris Catacombs are a vast, eerie network of tunnels beneath the City of Light, housing the remains of millions. This haunting history serves as the inspiration for the shoe’s striking design.

The shoe’s upper is constructed from smooth leather. A Petra Brown hue covers the midsection and toe box, while the toe, lace guard, and back are finished in a Black Tea shade, creating a striking contrast. The sockliner, tongue, and heel are in Black, as is the iconic Swoosh logo. Metallic accents are embedded into the heel, while the translucent outsole features subtle patterns.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Paris” is set to drop on 10 August 2024 via Nike brick-and-click stores. It comes with an RRP of US$150.
