This innovative technology uses a robotic arm to spray the shoe’s upper directly onto the sole, eliminating the need for traditional construction methods and slashing CO2 emissions by 75% compared to their existing shoes.

The resulting Cloudboom Strike LS is the first model to showcase LightSpray™’s potential. This lightweight, seamless upper boasts a sock-like fit, achieved without laces. On’s signature carbon Speedboard sits between the upper and sole for enhanced propulsion, while the midsole features their high-performance hyper foam.

The On Cloudboom Strike LS eliminates the need for a separate sock liner and utilizes a glue-free bonding process for a more comfortable, tear-resistant design. This stands in stark contrast to traditional techniques employed by On and other brands, which often involve a combination of weaving, sewing, gluing, and finishing.

Rigorously tested by On’s athletes, the Cloudboom Strike LS even made its debut earlier in 2024 on Hellen Obiri during her dominant Boston Marathon victory.
