ONE PIECE Card Game Red/Green Law Deck

The banning of the Sakazuki card from Awakening of the New Era [OP-05] has had a major impact on the ONE PIECE Card Game metagame. Its new absence has allowed decks which the Blue/Black Sakazuki deck once hard-countered to flourish. One such deck is the Red/Green Law deck—a fast-paced deck which saw a good deal of success prior to the Blue/Black Sakazuki deck’s emergence and has now made a return to meta relevance. This was highlighted by a victory at the Utrecht Regional.

To get things started, it’s advisable for the player to load the field with Characters in order to activate the Leader effect of the deck’s titular card from Romance Dawn [OP-01]. Cards such as Nami from Romance Dawn [OP-01] and Curly Dadan from Paramount War [OP-02] rapidly populate the field, allowing for a 5-cost Character card to be played early via the Leader effect and thus helping the player get the jump on the opponent.

The 5-cost Characters which are most important to this deck are Cavendish from the Extra Booster Memorial Collection [EB-01] and Trafalgar Law from Worst Generation [ST-02]. By combining these cards’ effects, the player can set up to four DON!! cards as active and create a major momentum shift with the ensuing attack. It’s also important to use 1-cost Blockers judiciously in order to ensure that at least five Characters are on the field at all times.

When mulliganing, the cards which ought to be prioritized are the Nami and Curly Dadan cards because they’re the cards that kickstart the deck’s entire strategy. If those cards are already in hand, seek Cavendish or the Trafalgar Law Character card instead.

This deck’s toughest matchup is the Green Bonney deck due to its high degree of Blocker power. It’ll be necessary to apply enough pressure to win the game before the opponent has a chance to completely shut the player’s strategy down. Two specific cards in the Red/Green Law deck can serve as counterplay to the Green Bonney deck: Nico Robin from Awakening of the New Era [OP-05] and Roronoa Zoro from Wings of the Captain [OP-06].

Buying all the cards in the Red/Green Law deck costs at least 10,150 JPY (~US$64).
