Junya Watanabe MAN and New Balance, a longstanding collaborative duo, unveiled a new footwear offering during the designer’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection showcase at Paris Fashion Week. This season sees the introduction of the MINIMUS UX200L, a silhouette that pushes the boundaries of minimalist design.
Debuting in 2011 with a black and white colorway, the MINIMUS series was conceptualized as a barefoot-inspired running shoe. The latest iteration, co-created by Watanabe and New Balance, adheres to this core principle by featuring a streamlined design to the extreme.
The upper is crafted from a single piece of breathable mesh, ensuring lightweight comfort. A triangular texture adorns the outer toe area, providing subtle visual intrigue and a touch of structure. For enhanced protection, the heel incorporates additional padding. An asymmetrical lacing system further elevates the design. Finally, a Vibram outsole equips the shoe with exceptional durability and superior traction.
The Junya Watanabe MAN x New Balance MINIMUS UX200L is expected to launch officially during the Spring/Summer 2025 season. Stay tuned for further details on release date and availability.
