[Update 19 Sep 2024] Kyrie Irving’s arrival in China was warmly welcomed by his fans, who waited for two days at the airport. He connected with them before heading to ANTA’s HQ.

Then it was business as usual over at the base, where new images surfaced, offering glimpses of the upcoming lineup of the ANTA KAI Tribe, the lifestyle offshoot of his signature line. They’re filled with nods to his cultural heritage, employing motifs alluding to his Standing Rock Sioux pedigree. Check them out in the gallery above!

These images, courtesy of @conkeror21, offer a glimpse into the lifestyle sneaker of Irving’s burgeoning line with the Chinese sportswear brand. Basketball wizard Kyrie Irving is still getting his “checks” sans Nike. This time from Chinese sportswear brand ANTA. Since joining their roster, he’s released the ANTA KAI 1—his first signature—in various colorways, with notable showings such as the “Chief Hélà” and “Mother’s Day” variants. Riding on its inertia, the two venture into lifestyle territory with the titular KAI Tribe.

First unveiled by @conkeror21 on Instagram, the pair features a flat silhouette, departing from the typical performance-focused designs of Irving’s previous collaborations. From what’s discernible from the images, the pair comes in two colorways: black with a textured mesh and suede upper, and white with grey accents featuring a smoother leather finish.

Both showcase ANTA branding on the forefoot, midfoot, and heel tab. A contrasting sail-colored sole and a striking silver plate, playing a dual role, serving as both a design element and a structural reinforcement.

Not much is known about the ANTA KAI Tribe in terms of a release date and price point but the shoes are expected to arrive sometime in the fall this year. Stay tuned for more details and images in the coming weeks!
