Summer football tournaments are a vibe. For this summer, Germany will host the 2024 edition of the European Championship, turning the whole country into a football frenzy as they are hosting as a unified nation for the first time. To celebrate this massive event on home turf, Berlin’s Overkill shop has teamed up with adidas to create a special edition ZX8000 sneaker, the “Heimspiel”, which means “Home Game”.

The ZX8000 “Heimspiel” is a clean design that lets the theme speak for itself. The upper is mostly white, with bold black, yellow, and red stripes across the midfoot—a nod to the German flag colors. This tricolor detail peeks out again on the midsole for a subtle touch.

Overkill keeps their branding low-key with black logos on the tongue and mudguard. But the coolest detail might be hidden inside: mismatched green and light blue insoles that pay homage to Berlin’s Olympiastadion, the stadium hosting the championship final match on 14 July.

The Overkill x adidas ZX8000 “Heimspiel” takes a unique approach, bringing a touch of football spirit to adidas’ retro running collection. This special edition shoe drops on 8 June, exclusively at overkillshop.com and their Berlin and Cologne stores, priced at 140 EUR (~US$152).
