Revivals have been Nike’s MO since time immemorial, attested to by the resurfacing of their silhouettes from decades past. One such is the Astro Grabber from the ’70s, reintroduced through their recent Bode collaboration. Another, the Jordan Air Ship.

Archival silhouettes are usually ushered in by way of collaborations, thereafter the pairs are released in more inline colorways. For the aforementioned Air Ship, Nigel Sylvester, Forget-me-nots, Awake NY and A Ma Maniére are some that have led this effort. Next in line: Parisian retailer Opium Paris.

The palette—Sail, Blue Chill, Black, and Court Purple—evokes the Charlotte Hornets’ colors, a team Michael Jordan owned for over a decade, who now is a minority owner.

Boasting a Sail leather base with perforated toe boxes, Black accentuates the profile Swooshes, eyestays, and toe overlays, while Court Purple highlights the collars and tongue tags. On them is the inscription, “Designed in Charlotte”.

The final flourish comes in the form of the nostalgic motifs such as the retro pattern running along the spine, as well as the debossed graffiti-style “Paris” adorning the lateral ankle.

The Opium Paris x Jordan Air Ship PE SP is scheduled for release on 1 June with a US$150 RRP. Find them then on Nike SNKRS and select Jordan Brand retailers. Stay tuned for official images to be unveiled in the coming weeks!
